The curriculum for the second cycle, covering all offered specializations, is based on the following principles:

During the first year of study the basic subjects, including the essential theoretical knowledge necessary for a modern manager are taught. In the second year practical classes are carried out. The entire teaching process is completed with design workshops during the fourth semester. During the workshops students participate in a joint project performed on the basis of current business projects (simulating the real project). These workshops cover all stages of a typical project, such as: defining requirements, preparing documents initiating a project, accomplishing the design work, quality control, acceptance procedures, closing the project etc. These workshops allow students to use in practice the knowledge gained during their studies as well as to by well-prepared for the role of manager in real business ventures.

Management in public administration

Description of the specialization

Improvement of the public administration's efficiency requires preparing new personnel, as well as constant improvement of the already existing human resources. Creating effective and efficiently operating public sector entities can significantly stimulate the development of our "little homelands" and counties, regions, and thus the whole country. Effective and functioning correctly administration is also the basis for the use of huge funds from the EU structural funds, to which the public administration has the main access. According to this, the modern State cannot function well without a properly organized administration.

The offered study provide the opportunity to become acknowledged with the latest organizational, legal and procedural solutions, concerning the functioning of government and local administration. Students will be provided with knowledge connected with instruments and mechanisms for the functioning of the public administration and the local government units as well as how to manage them. The key issues of the curriculum will be design, implementation and efficacy assessment of endeavours and public programs conducted by the local administration units.

Knowledgeable specialist in the field of public administration, a team manager, must be acknowledged with organization and human resource management. He/she should also, within the framework of his/her responsibilities, be familiar with different tools of communication and effective in negotiating with colleagues and clients in a broad sense.
